Quick Update One: July 2026
As a way of keeping me on track as well as giving updates as well as giving me an easy news I'll be every few months giving quick updates to things that I have kinda dropped on the floor and want to pick up. So lets go!

Future Predictions Imperfect
I've read a lot of Sci-Fi novels, more in the past I must admit, but I've always found it funny/interesting how some of the common tech of today was not predicted at all. The classic example is phones. Generally at best there's some sort of pager, but in most cases people have nothing. Home phones, often with video, are more the norm. I can understand this too, 'cos I was growing up while mobile phones were becoming a thing. I knew people with a mobile phone and I never really saw the point. (...)
Lens-a-thon
Yes! There are fitness benefits to photography! I often walk around all day with 10+ kg of equipment in my backpack. (Yeah, backpack. I've tried other styles but they are too tiring too fast. Mine's a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW II, might rant more about it later.) And it sure burns off energy. But I don't do it every day. So it probably doesn't work too well...

Mega Memory Menance
I bought the ASUS ROG Flow Z13-KJP. Pretty cool machine which I like very much, and I really haven't done much that really pushes it that hard. Mostly photo work, which it handles well as it has 128 GB of RAM..... yeah.... crazy stuff. But while that's really cool and useful and all, it does come with issues. Mostly in relation to when you're not using it. Sleep and hibernation.... yeah. Keeping alive that much memory uses a lot of battery life and I haven't got around to testing how long it (...)
