The biggest surprise with using a Samsung Fold to me, aside from the fact that it wasn't as good at multitasking as I hoped, is the amount of interest I get from friends and randos.

I don't even have the newer one, and it's got a thick dirty crack in the center! It's all very weird as I doubt any of these people would actually buy one. Afterall; this isn't the first Samsung Fold... or to angle it more my way... it's not the first large "dual screen" phone. I've had many (most?) of them afterall. So to me if this was your thing you'd have bought it already, or at least know that mine isn't recent. If I like the phone I'd be more happy to enthusiastically answer questions, but since it's been an expensive disappoint for me I only want to answer questions with disclaimers "Sure it's good... if you want a big screen you can put in your pocket."
But on this subject I am curious if the new Apple phone is a fold of a sort. Will they be the best thing since Toshiba drives in a developed-elsewhere music player? Probably. Apple have a way of making something not-new into new-improved-and-unique. (Typing this on a M1 MacBook Pro, funnily enough...!) But that's off topic.
The original point of this rant is I really don't like being misconstrued, so it does annoy bit being asked about the phone as I feel that I need to carefully clarify every answer as I don't want someone to say "Hey! That phone you talked up doesn't do XXXX!". Which I suppose isn't likely as I doubt people really care, which I suppose in reality annoys me more.
Talking about a phone without talking it up to people who are just talking.
Sigh.
