I've been into multi screen for 20+ years. Obviously it started with computers but it extended to laptops (probably a rant in itself) and phones as well. First time I got one was a on-sale LG V50. A very clunky device that was almost exactly what I wanted. I could at last solve the old problem of referring to X while working on Y, as well as monitoring Y while doing X. Sadly after a few years of use the case hinge cracked in a very odd way and I lost the second screen. Case? Yeah. The V50 is a normal looking phone that uses a specially designed case that has a second screen. Crazy thinking but it works surprisingly well. I tried to find a replacement case but they were crazy rare and crazy expensive. The recently released V60, which had a similar feature, was hard to find too.
However, around this time I found an on-sale Microsoft Duo 2, which offered a more refined experience and it worked well for a while... but it's battery life really started to get bad, to the point where I was charging it several times a day... so I bought a Samsung Fold 6.
Prior to buying this I did loads of research. Yes, it can do dual screen. OK..... But in the end the answer in reality is no. Why? 'cos it's all app dependant. Apps need to approve the split screen, and few do. The V50 and the Duo 2 were two screens. The app couldn't say no. Some apps, like games, did freeze if they were not the primary window, but that was the only issue. As a result it hasn't been the phone I wanted at all.
But. I just found some V60s for sale....
