What? Yeah. I can do any topic I want here.
Right now I'm away from home, mostly by myself, 'cos of work. For about 5 months. It's a while yeah, but I've been trying to take advantage of it all, and one of my major goals has been to learn more about what weight management techniques work for me ...and probably to a lesser extent you! Normally some aspects, such as meal replacement/modification/skipping, are a bit anti social as it would mean never eating with my family. But as I said I'm not home for months... thus this bit of research has been a priority due to being a potential once in a lifetime situation. It's all coming to an end soon so I'll save the conclusions for a bit later, but I've been able isolate the effect of food vs exercise and gain knowledge of what works best for me to stay at a good weight while maintaining a health muscle level.
Isolation is easier if I remove variables so I did that as much as possible. For example eating much the same thing 90% (guestimate percentage) of the time, tracking exercise, and weighing myself a lot. Have I lost weight. Yep! Will I be able to keep it off when I go from this routine to another? No idea. My routine has been changing a lot lately so I'm hoping that I can get better at knowing if I am in a caloric excess or deficit and/or if I have gained fat, so then I can keep myself within 5kg of my ideal weight without needing to constantly weigh myself, which is not always practical.
