Very dead links
One of the links that I found was no longer valid went from a Software Association to some sort of sport network. Going by The Wayback Machine practically over night too. Weird... But I suppose that is where independent software developers are now. AI is probably going to make it all worse too. Which means it is time to make more software just the same!
Major site work
So yeah, the site needed a lot of work. Not as much as maintaining forums, not likely to go back down that path again... but things do change in the interwebs so there are still changes needed to keep things current. In addition there still were (and are to a limited extent) references to the forum, incorrect links, links to sites that no longer exist in the same form they were... Sigh. But almost done with that.
New ummmm stuff
New beta! New release? Dunno. The plan for the rapid-cycle was 'cos several life issues were happening, some happened and some did not, but in any case available time became less. Now time has improved in the short term... but the number one goal is stable programs. So what may end up happening is a whole lot of new Beta releases and a new release months down the track. Not sure. For now the plan is Betas...
A return indeed
Back? Maybe. Right now I'm looking for my headspace, which was dropped on the floor about two years ago...
Not us...
While innocently watching videos on a laptop I get an alert; Defender claims it is being useful and has found a threat. Clearly not; it is yet again a false detection of one of my own programs that is NOT a Trojan. Sigh. Things like this really were a thorn in my side when I was trying to build up a reputation. You can complain about it, and it will be fixed, but it's a game of Whack-a-stupid-detection. Anyway Wacatac.B. Not in my code.
QWave v2
So the QWave beta is done. While this may have seemed to be an odd priority we wanted to do this mostly as it was important to find the size baseline. MASM32 programs can be really small; QWave was only 6kB... yet it seems the smallest stub program in VS C++ is about 12kB... and QWave 2.0 is currently 15kB. However QWave (...)
TwinSeek v2
The 99% complete TwinSeek has been updated on the Beta page. A bit later than planned, but not too bad. There were some issues porting some functionality and as a result it became easier to bring forward some planned unit tests. It is funny with trying to finish software. You have lists of issues and then you suddenly (...)
iTimeSync v2 Alpha One
iTimeSync has been added to the Beta page. There are some known missing features so it is being declared as a Alpha. There should be a final Beta in the next few weeks that will move to a release a week later. Or so the plan goes. Right now the plan is to move TwinSeek to a final Beta. That will be released (...)
iTimeSync v2
Still working on iTimeSync. Probably about 90% ready for a Beta, but that'll probably be a few more days at the earliest. Other programs should be faster; a lot of the work on iTimeSync was library update and design. We had libraries of sorts from early days, but we allowed forking within programs to a degree in the interest of efficiency. Less inclined to do that now as it became a big reason why (...)
First SLog
So yeah, I'm in the middle of a complete rebuild of everything in C/C++. Probably. Some programs may be missed, but the goal is to hold back any release until I've got a few ready. TwinSeek 2.0 has been in active use for years, Ute is in progress, and iTimeSync is aproaching a Beta. There's another (...)
