When I decided that I needed to do more than just weight training to keep myself at my ideal weight luck was on my side. Final Fantasy XIII just came out. The relevance? It was something to do while I was on an exercise bike. For better or worse the combat system was very playable with minimal button presses. It was more strategic and timing based. Thus I cut back on some food, kept doing weights, and I played Final Fantasy XIII for hours. Was it the most efficient way to burn calories? Doubtful, but looking at photos I did lose weight. How much? Ummmmmm....
Well...
I'm pretty sure I've got records of all this, and I'm in the process of gathering data from the last 35 years. No kidding there; I've got records going that far back. But it's all scattered. And random. Some printed, some online, some written down, some in text files. Excel spreadsheets even. (I have a thing for spreadsheets.) Sometimes I weighed myself with clothes, sometimes not. So it's a bit of a project. But doing a quick look though some notes I think I was about 100 kg in June 05, 95 kg in March 06, 100 kg again October 06, 95 kg February 07, 90 kg in April 07, 87 kg in June.... after that I can find 96 kg in December 16.... This I'll get onto (supposedly) but the point is this has been a long term quest of mine. I have in the past came to the conclusion that my idea weight is around 80 kg, but at the same time I've found that I need to eat less than I would like and do a decent amount of exercise to even get close to this goal.
Anyway to end this rant on a negative note, after I lost all this weight I was employed as a professional programmer for about ten years and maintaining a healthy lifestyle became even harder as time was short and sitting down was long. Sigh.
